The Social Security Administration (SSA) has officially announced a 3.6% Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for 2027, increasing monthly Social Security benefits for millions of Americans beginning in January.

With this adjustment, the average monthly benefit for retired workers is expected to increase from $2,095 to $2,170, an increase of $75 per month.

Along with the COLA, SSA has announced updates to several other key Social Security figures, including maximum taxable earnings, retirement earnings test limits, and other important thresholds.
